Sheffield Castle Excavations - Pop up exhibition and lecture

September 29 2018 – September 29 2018

An event to mark the archaeological excavation of the ruins of Sheffield's medieval castle, (the old Post Office itself sits in the actual moat of the medieval castle) which begins in April 2018.

David Clarke (Sheffield Hallam University) and Gareth Dean (University of Sheffield) will be taking visitors through the project alongside an exhibition of finds from previous excavations (in the 1920s and 1950s) on the castle site for people to see and handle. Sheffield Museums service (Weston Park) have already agreed in principle to a loan of some of the finds from the excavations in the 1920s and 1950s for the purpose of this event.

The event is free, but registration is required.
