About Kirsten:

Kirsten Gram-Hanssen is a Senior Researcher at the Danish Building Research Institute at Aalborg University. A Civil Engineer by trade, she is a leading commentator in the field of low energy housing internationally and has published and spoken widely on the subject. CRESR, DAP and MERI are fortunate to be hosting Kirsten during her visit to the UK. Please join us for what promises to be a very interesting and timely seminar. Lunch will be provided.

Abstract:

Denmark is a country with a particularly active programme to reduce carbon emissions and where the government has adopted a target that, by 2050, the housing sector will be neutral in its emissions. Kirsten Gram-Hannsen, Senior Researcher at Aalborg University will explain what has been done so far in realising this target and the difficulties that remain.  The Danish target is very similar to that adopted in the UK national Carbon Delivery Plan. This presentation will therefore give an indication of the type of issue that we are likely to face in the very near future.
