Issued:18/01/12

Sheffield Hallam University's international students are the most satisfied with their learning experience in the UK, according to a worldwide survey.

The University had the highest satisfaction levels for learning experience against a group of the UK’s best universities, including thirteen Russell Group universities, taking part in the latest International Student Barometer (ISB) survey.

Its international students' opinions also placed Sheffield Hallam first in the UK for its standard of learning technology (PCs, networking, etc) and IT support, along with the quality of its laboratories, learning spaces and virtual learning environment.

And more than 82 per cent of those who took part in the survey said they would recommend Sheffield Hallam to others.

The ISB survey, which is administered by the International Graduate Insight Group, tracked the opinions of international students at higher education institutions worldwide, including 44 UK universities.

James Richardson, Director of International Development at Sheffield Hallam, said: "We're delighted with the results of this International Student Barometer (ISB) survey and that our students rate us so highly.

"All faculties have seen improvements in international students' satisfaction with their learning experiences and our living experience, which includes satisfaction with the city, has also been ranked particularly highly.

"We will continue to work hard to ensure our international students receive high quality support throughout their studies."
