An audience of almost two million saw engineers from the Centre for Sports Engineering Research at Sheffield Hallam help daredevil Guy Martin smash the world record for fastest downhill speed on a gravity powered sled.
The team, led by Professor Steve Haake, were filmed in the labs at Sheffield Hallam, a pie shop in Walkley and the Pyrenees as part of the world record bid.
