Linguistics expert Professor Sara Mills spoke to the BBC Online, the Times Educational Supplement and BBC Radio Four about whether school pupils should be forced to call teachers 'sir' or 'miss'. Professor Mills told the TES that, "Sometimes teachers find that they can control students more when they try to stress the similarities between them, rather than trying to keep as distant as possible."
