Jill has 10 years' practical experience as a commercial property solicitor, working for well-known law firms within both Leeds and Sheffield before moving into academia. Her specialist area is urban regeneration, specifically the retail sector. Within previous research she has also investigated people's rights to defend their own property, looking at the legal issues surrounding high-profile cases such as Tony Martin in the UK and Trayvon Martin in the USA.
