Professor Nicola Woodroofe, head of the University's Biomedical Research Centre was interviewed by the Times Higher Education about the University's professorial mentoring scheme. The scheme aims to help women develop the skills and confidence they need to reach the top in their academic careers.  

The Times Higher Education article reports HESA data which shows that just one in ten professors at some institutions are women.
