Dr Simona Francese of Sheffield Hallam University's Biomedical Research Centre has been interviewed by several national media outlets, including, BBC Click, BBC Radio 4's Today programme, BBC Radio 5 Live and The Times, about her new fingerprint technology that uses mass spectrometry to identify substances within a fingermark. The technology is currently being tried and tested by West Yorkshire Police and can provide vital forensic evidence about what a criminal has been up to, prior to committing the crime.
