Shalini is a senior lecturer in marketing at Sheffield Business School. She is an expert in consumer psychology and frequently invited to contribute to discussions by broadcasters such as the BBC. She is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on a fit and healthy childhood. Her research on autism in children's literature has featured in The Conversation and she’s been invited to share her research across universities such as the University of Cambridge and Sheffield Institute of Education. She earned her PhD in Marketing from Manchester Business School and investigated the relevance of corporate reputation on investor decision making, in particular on regret. She then went on to explore the relevance of emotions and emotion regulation on the work of traders as a research fellow at the Open University. She has been awarded funding by SAMS, NARTI and ESRC in connection with projects that focus on ECR development as well as autism in children's fiction.
