Dr Alexander Tziamalis is a senior lecturer in economics in the department of Finance, Accounting and Business Systems.

His research interests are in macroeconomics and behavioural economics.

He earned his PhD from the University of Sheffielda and previously studied economics and psychology at the London School of Economics, Athens University of Economics and University of Piraeus.

Alex champions an Economics for Everyone philosophy, frequently writing on everyday issues including protectionism, UK housing market, GDP growth, inflation and unemployment. 

His analysis has featured in The Conversation, The Observer, METRO, US News, The Mint, International Business Times, The Independent, The Business Standard and on many other media platforms. His work has been translated into seven languages, including Chinese, Portuguese and Greek. Alex has also given Radio interviews to BBC Radio Sheffield, Sputnik Radio and BBC Merseyside.
