Beverley Mowthorpe is a senior lecturer in management accounting in the department Finance, Accounting and Business Systems at Sheffield Business School.

She is also an expert in the teaching and engagement of Chinese students and is frequently invited to contribute to discussions at SHU around the Chinese student experience.

She has travelled extensively throughout China, and has an understanding and perspective of the challenges faced by this very valuable group of students.

Her research is focussed on how accepted pedagogy for domestic students needs to be amended when teaching Chinese students.

She is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), with over 20 years of commercial experience in industry. 

She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Enterprise Management from the University of Durham, and is in the final stages of completing her Masters in Accounting and Finance at SHU.
