Our Art & Design Home

The Head Post Office

In early 2016, we moved into our new art & design home – a restored city landmark, the Head Post Office, a Grade II listed building known to generations of Sheffielders, which had stood empty for more than 15 years.

Following the £9m regeneration project, which saw retained as many of the original features as possible, we moved into our new home which houses art and design courses, including fashion design, graphic design, fine art, product design, interior design, metalwork and jewellery, and more. Students are able to learn, make and create in large studio spaces and specialist workshops, using the latest technologies.

Now the building is an exciting environment for our art and design staff and students and welcomes hundreds of students through its doors every day. There is also a café and exhibition space which is open to the public, giving local people, many of whom worked in and used the Head Post Office, the chance to reminisce in a building restored to its former glory.
