Our research

Research is an important aspect of our work not least because our research contributes to existing knowledge and understanding in STEM education but it also provides a valuable underpinning to our curriculum development and CPD work.

We engage in independent research in STEM education as well as with a range of partners and organisations.

Research staff are currently engaged in projects which focus on inquiry based science education, collaboration with science teachers, and careers in STEM.  We also have a number of doctoral students engaged in a range of studies that include creativity in the science classroom, learning science beyond the classroom and meaning making through graphs in primary mathematics.
