Nadia has more than 10 years of experience in qualitative research and specialises in engaging participants from vulnerable and hard-to-reach groups, including young people with multiple and complex needs, isolated older people, and people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. She has expertise in research methods, which help these hard-to-reach participants overcome barriers to communication such as language, speech, hearing difficulties etc. Previous work for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) has led to a particular interest in asset-based approaches to health and social care and researching the impact of delivering public and VCS health and social care interventions.

Nadia is currently project managing research for the National Health Service, and has previously played significant roles in projects for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Communities and Local Government (CLG), the Welsh Assembly Government, the Big Lottery Fund, and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

Research interests / PhD supervision

Nadia has wide ranging research interests including

  • asset- based approaches to health and social care
  • exploring different methodological approaches to engaging those groups that are seldon heard
  • challenges faced by the Voluntary and Community Sector

If you are interested in undertaking a PhD in these areas, please get in touch with Nadia and she will be happy to discuss any ideas you have.
