Dr Tziamalis studied economics at an undergraduate and postgraduate level in Athens, Greece and continued his studies at London School of Economics where he did a Master's degree in social psychology. His PhD topic was on student migration to the UK. 

After his doctoral research Alexander worked full-time as an Analyst in the Civil Service (2009-2012) which he left to work as a full time lecturer at the Sheffield Business School from July 2012.

His research interests include: 

  • Macroeconomic
  • Externalities and imperfections
  • Behavioural Economics and
  • Alternative economics theories
